Falmouth JV Improves to 5-3

Harper Drosdick went 5 innings allowing 1 run and striking out 8. Liam Keefer closed the final inning striking out one finishing the 12-1 win over Massabesic.

Drosdick and Caden Berry Collected multiple hits as the Navigators scored early and often.

Falmouth Wins 9th in a Row…IT’s Playoff Time!

Falmouth finished the regular season beating Sanford 3-2 in 8 innings. Tyler Simmons collected his 4th win of the season and lowered his ERA to .532. Simmons struck out 7 over 3 2/3 innings. Jacoby Porter started the game and went 4 1/3 innings giving up 2 runs, both unearned.

Falmouth rallied in the top of the 7th down 2-0. Jacoby Porter was hit by a pitch. After Thomas Healey singled, Caden Berry sacrificed, moving Mason Pechinski (pinch running for Porter) to third and Healey to 2nd. Brendon White weas then hit by a pitch. After a pop out, Harper Drosdick singled on a line drive to left field brining in Healey and Pechinski to tie the game.

After holding Sanford in the bottom of the 7th, Tyler Simmons singled and was then driven in by Jacoby Porter who singled to right.

In the bottom of the 7th Simmons held Sanford Scoreless.

Falmouth heads into the playoffs in 5th place in Class A South. They will most likely face Kennebunk in the preliminary round on June 10th.

Falmouth Handles Deering, Improves to 11-4

Falmouth won its 8th consecutive game in convincing fashion at Hadlock Field. Josh Polchies led the way going 4-4 with 2 triples and a double. Polchies and Brandon White both drove in 3 runs each. Caden Berry and Ben Robbins both had 2 hits as well.

Nick Wyse improved to 2-0 on the season. Wyse went 3 2/3 allowing 2 runs (unearned) while striking out 2 and surrendering 5 hits. Milo Matson added 2 1/3 scoreless innings and Polchies closed the game with a scoreless 7th. The Team ERA dropped to 1.102 for the season. In 15 games the Navigators have allowed 17 earned runs.

Polchies currently leads the team with a .435 batting average and shares the team lead with Tyler Simmons at 20 hits on the season after going 4-4 against Deering. Simmons leads the team with 18 RBI, adding two to his total.

Falmouth travels to Sanford to end the regular season tonight. The matchup has important playoff implications. Falmouth Currently sits in 6th place in Class A South, while Sanford is in 7th place. Falmouth narrowly trails Gorham and Biddeford who site in 5th and 4th place.

Falmouth Tops Massabesic for 7th Win in Row

Falmouth exploded for 7 runs in the 6th inning to run past Massabesic 11-2. Nick Wyse started the attack with a run scoring double, bringing in Milo Maston. After a Ben Robbins bunt since, Josh Polchies doubled bringing in Wyse. Jacoby Porter was intentionally walked, setting the stage for a Tyler Simmons double that scored Polchies and Robbins. Up next, Thomas Healey singled to center scoring Porter. Caden Berry added a sacrifice fly scoring Simmons. Milo Matson picked up an RBI on the next pitch grounding into a fielder’s choice brining in Healey.

Thomas Healey went 2 1/3 innings and was relieved by Tyler Simmons who earned the win. Simmins pitched 3 2/3, striking out 5 and allowing 2 runs. These were the first 2 runs allowed by Simmons for the season. Milo Matson closed out the 7th with a scoreless inning. Simmons and Matson lead the time with 3 wins apiece, and the team ERA currently sits at a stingy 1.178 for the season. Opponents are hitting just .201 against the staff.

Falmouth continued to be aggressive on the basepaths stealing 6 bases. Josh Polchies is the team leader with 11. Falmouth is currently stealing bases at a 93% success rate.

Falmouth plays Deering at Hadlock field Monday June 2nd before ending the regular season at Sanford on June 3rd. Falmouth currently sits in 6th place in Class A South. Sanford is currently 7th, setting up an important matchup right before the playoffs.

Jacoby Porter No Hits Bonny Eagle, Navs 9-4

Jacoby Porter threw a complete game no hitter, lowering the team ERA to 1.117 on the season. Porter went the distance striking out 3. With the win, Porter improved to 2-1 on the season.

Tyler Simmons led the team with 3 RBI on 2 hits, adding to his season total that now stands at a team leading 13. Thomas Healey added 2 RBI, and Nick Wyse had 2 hits.

The Navigators collected 6 stolen bases. Healey led the way with 2 and Josh Polchies collected his team leading 10th of the season.

The Navigators blew the game open with a 6 run fourth inning. Nick Wyse singled to open the floodgate driving in a run. Healey followed with another single driving in 2 runs. Simmons then drove in 2 more runs with a single, and Brandon White added another RBI single on a line drive to right field.

Falmouth takes on Massabesic in another important Class A South Matchup at home tomorrow night 5/30 at 4:30.
