Coaches and Staff

Head Coach:  Mike D’Andrea

The 2023 season will be Coach D’Andrea’s fourth at Falmouth HS. He was the head coach at Scarborough High School from 2016-2019 and led the Red Storm to a state title in 2019. He was also head coach at Deering High School and led the Rams to seven state titles between 1998 and 2004. In 2004 he coached the Nova Seafood American Legion team to a national championship. He also coached the Deering HS girls basketball to two state titles. Mike played High School baseball at Portland high school and won state titles in 1986 and 1987. He then went to pitch at the University of Maine where he set a school record for career wins. D’Andrea played professionally for several years in the Braves organization.

Assistant Coach: Mike Rutherford

This is Coach Rutherford’s 1st year with FHS. He has many years’ experience coaching youth sports and travel baseball.

Assistant Coach: Max Salevsky

This is coach Salevsky’s second year coaching at FHS. He played college college baseball at SMCC and Thomas College.

Salevsky graduated from Bonny Eagle High School where he was a SMAA All-Conference and Defensive Team selection as well as a two-year captain his junior and senior seasons.

Assistant Coach: David Abramson

David Abramson is a Falmouth High School and Varsity Baseball alum. He is an attorney at Verrill Dana in Portland. As chair of the firm’s Sports Law Group, Coach Abramson has represented professional baseball players through the Major League Baseball Players Association as a Certified Player Agent, also advising high school and college athletes. Dave Abramson has coached and taught hitting at all age levels including through the Maine Lightning travel program.  Most recently, Coach Abramson was the hitting coach at Westbrook High School.

Coach Abramson’s hitting philosophy and instruction focuses on getting players in the best position to hit a baseball in any count with drills designed to generate proper load, stride and swing in ways that allows players to understand appropriate hitting mechanics.

Assistant Coach: Brian Ackerman

Coach Ackerman joins the coaching staff in 2023 as the JV team coach.

Official Scorekeeper: Larry “Murph” Murphy

Murph has been around the game of baseball a long time and still plays in multiple mens leagues.
