Falmouth JV Improves to 4-3

Falmouth JV beat Westbrook 12-2 in 6 innings. Liam Keefer, Harper Drosdick and Micah Derig Combined for 6 innings. Keefer pitched 3 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 run, and striking out 4. Drosdick thew one scoreless inning giving up 1 hit and striking out 2. Derig earned the save over 2 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 run, and striking out 2 in a row to finish the game.

Caden Berry led the way with a double and a triple continuing his hot streak. Liam Keefer added 2 RBI and Drosdick continued to hit the ball hard driving in 2. Milo Matson also had a multiple hit game.

The JV will take on Massabesic on June 4th at home.

Falmouth Slips by Westbrook, Improves to 8-4

Milo Matson improved to 3-0 as the Navigators fought off an inspired effort by the Blue Blazes winning 5-4. Matson came on in relief for 4 innings after Nick Wyse went 3 innings striking out 5. Wyse gave up 2 runs, both unearned.

Josh Polchies led the way with 2 hits (single and double) and scored twice bringing his team leading runs scored to 10 for the season. Polchies, a USM commit, is now hitting .405 for the season. Caden Berry, Brandon White, Milo Matson, and Tyler Simmons all contributed RBIs.

Down 0-2 after the first, Falmouth finally captured the lead in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Polchies doubled to center. After both Simmons and Thomas Healey were hit by pitches to load the bases, Berry grounded into a fielder’s choice scoring Polchies to even the score at 2-2. Brandon White then singled, scoring Healey and Simmons bringing the score to 4-2. Falmouth would not relinquish the lead.

Falmouth takes on Bonny Eagle Thursday May 29th in Standish at 3 PM. Falmouth currently sits 7th in the MPA Heal Point Class A South Standings. Bonny Eagle is in the 11th spot and is fighting to make one of the 12 Class A South playoff spots.

Falmouth Rides the Long Ball in Pivotal Win

Falmouth launched 3 home runs enroute to a 10-3 victory over the Biddeford Tigers. Tyler Simmons and Jacoby Porter crushed massive back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning. Simmons went deep to left field with a shot that left no doubt as soon as it left the bat. Porter followed with blast to left field that was an monstrous opposite field home run.

Later in the bottom of the 6th, Thomas Healey drove a ball over the left field fence for the 3rd homer of the game. Healey went 2 for 3 and was among 3 Navigators who collected multiple hits. Caden Berry led the way with four RBI’s and continues his hot streak at the plate raising his season average to .267.

Simmons has also been hot of late and is now hitting .389 to lead the team and is 2nd to Porter in RBIs with 9 on the season. Jacoby Porter leads the team with 10 RBI.

Thomas Healey collected his second win of the season going the first 3 and one third innings. Tyler Simmons collected his 2nd save of the season and continued his scoreless streak and 0.00 ERA for the season. Falmouth currently has a 1.138 team ERA.

Falmouth improved to 7-4 and now sits in sixth place in the MPA Heal Point Standings for Class A South. Falmouth hosts Westbrook next on Tuesday May 27th before traveling to Bonny Eagle on the 29th for an important Class A South game.

Falmouth Outlasts South Portland in 10 Innings

Falmouth clawed back from a 5-1 deficit to beat South Portland in 10 innings. Milo Matson held down the fort for 4 1/3 of scoreless innings after entering the game down 5-1. Tyler Simmons finished the game with 3 2/3 innings hitless innings, striking out 5.

Simmons led the way with 2 hits and 2 RBI to pace Falmouth. He also reached base twice on bases on balls.

In the 10th, Jacoby Porter walked with 2 outs. After a walk to Thomas Healey, Porter reached 3rd on a passed ball. On the ensuing pitch he scored on a wild pitch.

This is Falmouth’s 3rd extra inning game so far this season. After dropping heartbreaking losses to Thornton Academy and Marshwood, the Navigators were able to pick up their first win this season in extra play.

Falmouth plays Deering next at Hadlock Field.

Falmouth Improves to 5-4 with Lopsided Win

Falmouth improved to 5-4 on the season with a 12 – 0 win against Windham. Nick Wyse returned from injury to the mound with a one hit effort over 4 innings. He struck out 6 and walked one. Harper Drosdick and Milo Matson finished the game adding an inning each of scoreless pitching.

Caden Berry led all hitters with 3 hits and Brandon White led the way with 3 RBI. Jacoby Porter and Tyler Simmons both added towering home runs. It was the 2nd home run of the season for both Porter and Simmons.

Falmouth currently sits in 8th place in the MPA Heal Point Standings for Class A South. Falmouth takes on South Portland tonight in an important Class A South matchup. The Red Riots are currently 7-1.
