2020 – a season that wasn’t

There was a lot of excitement for the 2020 Yachtsmen baseball season. FHS had a strong core of returning players and a new head coach. There were several talented teams in the league, but the Yachtsmen were optimistic and confident for the season. Due to the Corona virus, the 2020 high school baseball season was cancelled before it began.

Even without HS baseball, many FHS players competed in the in the summer and fall 2020 Edge Wood Bat Leagues. These seasons were run by the Edge Academy with several local towns fielding teams. All players had to abide by social distancing protocols, but it was a great opportunity to get out and play some ball.

Congratulations to Sam Kidder, a member of the class of 2021. Sam will play his senior year at FHS, but has committed to continue his academic and baseball career at Stonehill College.

Ike Kiely, a 2020 graduate of FHS is currently at Babson college continuing his baseball and academic career.

2019 FHS graduate Garrett Tracy pitched for Nichols College Bison in an abbreviated 2020 season.
