Falmouth wins 4-3 over Biddeford

On Tuesday, the Falmouth Yachtsmen beat the Biddeford Tigers to move to 3-0 on the season.

Bennett Smith pitched a complete game for Falmouth. He allowed three runs on seven hits, striking out four and walking one for his second win of the season.

Falmouth got 2 runs in the second inning. Smith lined a single to left and moved around on Ben Keller’s walk and a stolen base. Smith scored on a passed ball and Keller scored on a Brennan Rumpf RBI fielder’s choice.

Falmouth got two more runs in the third. Gus Ford reached on a fielder’s choice and scored on an RBI single by Patrick Gill. Gill stole a base and scored on an RBI ground out by Smith.

Patrick Gill’s RBI single and run scored proved to be the difference in the score.

Biddeford got all of their runs in the fourth, They loaded the bases without hitting the ball out of the infield. Will Harriman delivered a 2-RBI double. The Tigers got their final run on another infield hit.

Falmouth ended the game in the bottom of the seventh with 2 fine defensive plays. Peter McCluskey snared a hard grounder down the 3rd base for the first out and Sam Kidder made a long running catch in the center field gap to end the game.

Falmouth will play a double header on Saturday versus Deering at Hadlock field, Game times are 1:00PM and 3:00PM.
